7 Compelling Reasons Why You Should See a Financial Planner - Part 1
It can be challenging sometimes for people to understand why seeing a Financial Planner can be one of the best decisions they can make in their lives. Unfortunately, most people leave it the last minute when it comes to their financial well-being and when they decide to do something about it, unfortunately, it can often be too late.
I’ve seen too many people come to me in their late 50s asking for a retirement plan and then watching the look of shock develop on their faces when I tell them that, based on their current financial situation and retirement goals, they’ll need to keep working until their late 70s. The sooner you start the easier reaching your future goals will be!
Here are 7 Compelling reasons why you should see a Financial Planner:
1. A Financial Planner can provide an objective overview of your current situation.
Too many times I see a client’s emotions cloud their judgement when making financial decisions. I also see that the experts they turn to are often their family or friends who try and give them counselling on the latest and greatest investment idea. Often, what might be good for one person might not work for you.
A Financial Planner will sit down with you, discuss your goals and objectives and then tailor the solution that fits your needs. They can take the details of your financial decision and run various what-if scenario's so that you are armed with all the information. Hard data doesn't lie and it helps take the emotion out of the decision for you. My job is to determine your financial fitness and then be your financial coach to develop a plan to make sure it happens.
2. A Financial Planner can help you make decisions.
Let’s face it, most of us are pretty good at putting off deciding on pretty much anything, let alone our financial situation. Often we are too scared to make that decision, mostly because we don’t have the right level of information needed to make it. A Financial Planner puts options in front of you, gives you the pros and cons of each option and then helps you make a decision based on your situation.
3. A Financial Planner can save you time and effort.
Hands up if you’ve got time to research all the options regarding all aspects of your financial situation? Then determine the best options for your needs and then implement them? Based on my experience, we all live busy lives and I wouldn’t see many hands go up. A Financial Planner would not only make a recommendation to you, they would make sure it gets implemented and work closely to with you to ensure planning is relevant to your changing situations.
4. A Financial Planner can help you save money.
Cash flow management should be at the core of everything you do. Do you understand what comes into your bank account and what goes out of it each month? At Saint Financial Planning we can help you establish a budget and put a system in place so that you can maximise your savings. Without any savings, you cannot possibly hope to achieve any of the financial goals you’ve set yourself.
